Quiet Grove Candle Scent

11 January 2018 By LA Leave a Comment

If you ask me, Scentsy’s new Quiet Grove candle scent is misnamed. I think it should be called Ooh La La

Okay, maybe there’s a reason they don’t put me in charge of naming fragrances.

What Do You Think of When You Hear the Word Grove?

I hear grove, and I think of an orange grove.  I would expect a scent with the word “grove” in it to be citrus scented.  Merriam-Webster defines a grove as: a small group of trees; especially: a group of trees that produce fruit or nuts.

Scentsy Quiet Grove

Scentsy’s Quiet Grove fragrance description: Take a morning stroll before the world stirs, finding peace in hushed notes of bergamot, jasmine and sandalwood.

As you can see, nothing citrus about it.

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE This Scent!

I would describe it as a calming, slightly masculine, cologne-type scent. It’s the sort of scent when you want into a room where it is warming you can’t help but say, “Mmm, it smells fabulous in here!”

It is currently available in wickless candle bars, hanging scent circle air fresheners and concentrated room sprays.  Stock up and get them in our Bundle and Save options.

What Does That Scentsy Smell Like?

20 October 2017 By LA Leave a Comment

You Can Get An Idea What Most Scentsy Smells Like By Its Name

If a Scentsy wickless candle bar has the word Apple or Cinnamon in its name, it’s a sure bet you will smell some apple or cinnamon when you melt that one.  Likewise, words like Air, Clean, Mountain, Sea or Spa should give you an indication it is a fresh, clean, type scent.

But What About Those Scent Names That Give No Indication What They Smell Like?

I’m glad you asked. Below are scent descriptions for some of our more ambiguous Scentsy scent names currently available during our Fall/Winter 2017 season:

Blue Grotto – Run away with fresh tropical notes, sweet citrus and lush botanicals

Bonfire Beach – Toasted marshmallow smoldering over white flint and sandalwood harmonize with salty sea air and ocean spray

Cambridge – Sweet lemon and pine needle with an intriguing dash of vetiver

Cozy Fireside – Warm spice notes with zesty ginger and cinnamon. I’m including this one because it doesn’t smell like anything to do with a fire and to me, I smell Spiced Gumdrops with this one.

Everything Nice – Sugar and spice and everything nice: deep caramel and swirls of butter with roasted pumpkin and glazed pecans

Homestead Holiday – Offer the warmest of welcomes, wrapped in a bounty of blood orange, cinnamon and fresh fir needle

Honeymoon Hideaway – Escape to a secluded retreat of dew-kissed lily and tart-sweet kiwi, shaded by lush coconut palm

Jammy Time – Help kids drift into dreamland with this soothing blend of baby freesia, lavender and sweet pea. Perfect for bedrooms and evening baths

Love & Happiness – It’s the ultimate feel-good fragrance! Glazed chestnut, vanilla and sugarcane will immerse your senses in pure joy

Lucky In Love – Sweet bouquet of mandarin, bergamot and orange with hints of peaches and berries

Luna – White florals — jasmine, sweet pea, and freesia — juicy berries, and sandalwood shimmer like moonlight

My Dear Watson – Refreshing bergamot contrasted with mint, cedar, and suede. Sophisticated and smart

Mystery Man – Warm white cedar, green verbena and citrusy bergamot in a perfectly spiced, sensual fragrance

Painted Leaves – Blue spruce, red maple and golden woods weave a lush tapestry of forested notes ripe for exploration

Pink Haze – A sweet confection of berries, nectarines and vanilla-laced whipped cream nestled in marshmallow fondant

Quiet Grove – Take a morning stroll before the world stirs, finding peace in hushed notes of bergamot, jasmine and sandalwood (Did you think this one would have orange in it – orange grove? I did.)

Skinny Dippin – Fresh green apples perfectly harmonized with refreshing melons and juicy pears

Vanilla Oud – With a heart of classic, elegant vanilla, this fragrance gently reveals earthy tendrils of oud wood and leather as it warms

Welcome Home – Warm and welcoming with cinnamon and spices

How Many Scentsy Cubes and How Long Does It Last?

3 September 2017 By LA Leave a Comment

How Many Cubes Do You Use in a Scentsy Warmer? How Long Does that Scent Last?

When you’re dealing with the sense of smell, as Scentsy consultants are, there is no Official quantitative values to assign to how long does the scent last or how many cubes do you put in a warmer or drops in a diffuser.

Scentsy may offer suggestions, recommendations, and guides but the most important thing for you, as a consultant, is to stress with your customers personal preference.

We could have an endless debate about how many cubes each of us use or how many drops of oils or what we think is too strong or that we can’t smell. Some may have heard corporate personnel’s personal preference. We could even debate some of the misinformation about the science behind heat, and scent throw and all that entails. When really, none of it matters because we aren’t in a cookie cutter business where one size fits all.

As Scentsy Consultants, our jobs are to consult, and to advise. We don’t tell anyone anything, other than to suggest they experience Scentsy for themselves and see what works best for them. To do otherwise is doing your customers a disservice and ultimately could hurt your business.

Don’t worry about the numbers. Focus on the personal experience.

Beach Bonfires

9 July 2017 By LA Leave a Comment

Don’t you just love the beach, and bonfires? Even better is a bonfire on the beach as you listen to the crackling fire, and waves hit the shore, as you sit nestled with your feet in the sand.

bonfire beachWant to hear a funny story about a beach bonfire?

Years ago, about thirty to be exact (I’m no spring chicken), I was at the beach at night; never you mind what I was doing there. Also, that summer there were a lot of underage kids drinking on the beaches at night. Local law enforcement was out in droves doing beach sweeps picking up minors who were drinking. I was in my 20s at the time, so I wasn’t one of the minors they were targeting.

I watched a whole slew of sheriff’s deputies approach a large bonfire and bring all the kids up to the parking lot. They all received a summons to appear in court. I suspect their parents were also called that night. I was also swept up in the “sting.”  I explained to the deputy that I was neither drinking nor underage.

Apparently though I missed the sign that said that park closed at dark. Alas, I too received a summons to appear in court. However, my ticket said that I was on the beach at 4pm, not 4am. [Read more…] about Beach Bonfires

Floral Scented Candles

21 April 2017 By LA Leave a Comment

flower scented candles scentsyDo you like the scent of fresh flowers?

Whether your favorite floral scent is lilac, jasmine, gardenia, lavender, rose or a variety of bouquets, Scentsy has a whole garden of wickless scented candles that smell like flowers, pleasing to most any nose:

Atlantic Air: A refined veil of ocean mist, sea salt and white orchid.

Coconut Vanilla Orchid: Alluring orange zest, coconut milk and silky vanilla orchid.

Flower Child: Sweet red berries layered over wild gardenia and sandalwood.

Forest Wildflowers: Neroli and mountain sage ride a vetiver breeze. (I included this one because it has wildflowers in the name but it’s more of an earthy scent than floral).

French Lavender: Pure, herbal fragrance of wild lavender from the hills of France.

Give Me Passionflower: A luscious luau of dewy passion fruit, fresh-cut mango spears and wild hibiscus will conjure an evening at an exotic island soirée. [Read more…] about Floral Scented Candles
