This post may not be very sexy, but it’s an important one. Below are the most recent Top Ten Standards that are vital for Scentsy consultants to know.
Income Product Claims: All claims made in advertisements must be truthful and consistent with current official Scentsy literature. Do not make any misleading or deceptive claims of any kind.
Inventory on Hand: Advertising your inventory on hand for sale online or at any retail location is prohibited.
Personal Specials: May be used as rewards for customers or hosts (not potential new team members). Must only be shared in one-to-one communications.
eBay/Amazon: This avenue of sales is strictly prohibited and accounts will be suspended.
Inventory Loading/Bonus Buying: Consultants should avoid purchasing more inventory than to fill customer orders, with exception of preparing for an event. Orders must be placed on behalf of customers and not for the purpose of achieving a Title, Rank, incentive, award or Bonus.
Conflict of Interest: Leveraging Scentsy’s intellectual property or any contacts obtained through the promotion of Scentsy’s products or opportunity, to benefit another non-Scentsy venture of any kind is strictly prohibited.
Naming Restrictions: State in full Independent Scentsy Consultant when naming social media pages. Do not use derivatives of Scentsy or aliases that could cause confusion, be misleading or deceptive.
Licensed Marketing: Use only marketing materials released from Scentsy that are approved by the license agreement.
Retailing Locations / Fairs and Shows: These are great opportunities to promote your business if done properly. Retail locations are always only allowed to have a promotional display.
Leadership Concerns: You are responsible for providing assistance, training, regular communications and opportunities for Team interaction for those in your Stewardship. Upon request, you must be able to provide documented evidence to Scentsy of your fulfillment of leadership responsibilities.
If you have any questions what any of these mean, contact your sponsor*, director*, or compliance@scentsy.com. See the complete Independent Scentsy Consultant Standards in your workstation.
*Ultimately you are 100% responsible to ensure you are working your Scentsy business within the boundaries provided to us. Unfortunately, I sometimes hear comments such as “Another consultant or my sponsor/director told me it was okay to …”. I would encourage you to ask them where that information is written in the Standards or go straight to the Compliance department to ask if you’re inquiring about something that could cost you your Scentsy account, promotion or reward.
Standards are a Good Thing
Remember, the standards are in place to protect you, your business, and the integrity of our Scentsy brand. They’re not punitive or restrictive. It’s always good to have high standards.
