4 August 2017 is National Chocolate Chip Cookie Day!
My Famous Chocolate Chip Cookie Recipe
If you’re looking for a chocolate chip cookie recipe that is da bomb – this is it. It’s my very own recipe. I tweaked it until I landed on perfection. Whenever school functions needed parents to bring cookies, these were always the first to be gobbled up.
LA’s Famous Chocolate Chip Cookies
1 C. Shortening
¾ C. sugar
¾ C. brown sugar
2 eggs
1 t. vanilla
2 ¼ C. all-purpose flour
1 t. baking soda
1 t. salt
2 C. Semi-sweet chocolate chips (12 oz.)
1 C. chopped nuts (optional)
In large mixer bowl cream shortening, sugars, eggs & vanilla until light & fluffy. Stir together the flour, soda & salt. Add to creamed mixture. Beat well. Add chocolate, nuts & 1 t. hot water. Mix by hand. Drop form teaspoon onto ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 350* 10-12 minutes. Makes 3 dozen 2 ½ inch cookies.
